"We Make Games" - The Series
Last Updated on Sunday, 03 January 2010 11:26 Written by Administrator Monday, 30 June 2008 23:32
"We Make Games" is another series developed by Triangle Productions based on an idea by Geoff Richardson and written by Ryan Pears. Originally designed to be the premiere series from Triangle Productions, we decided to hold the idea and work on the more cost-effective and practical series "Thwackers" first. We still love this idea and plan to make it sometime in the future.
Synopsis:
“We Make Games” is the story of Amiable Games, a struggling video game development company and the eccentric employees populating it.
Luke is Amiable’s newest employee; a bright, naïve college grad finally ready to pursue his lifelong love of video games. But rather than land the entry level job of game tester, he’s handed the role of Lead Designer, responsible for overseeing all aspects of Amiable’s newest game. But what should be Luke’s dream job turns out to be more of a nightmare.
Forced to keep his lack of experience a secret, Luke is thrown into an unwelcoming world of bitter employees, hidden agendas, and an apathetic boss. Aside from the daunting task of bluffing his way through a job he’s completely unqualified for, Luke quickly learns that Amiable’s days are numbered and no one seems to be doing anything about it.
If Luke wants to keep this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, he’s going to have to rise above these challenges and save the company.

Writer, Director
For the past 14 years Ryan has been honing his skills as a screenwriter. After creating several videos in high school that will never see the light of day, Ryan wrote and directed 2 short films while attending the British Columbia Institute of Technology’s Broadcast Television program. Since graduating he has spent the last 8 years at Deluxe Vancouver (formerly Rainmaker) working on everything from tiny independent productions to huge Hollywood blockbusters. Outside of his day job Ryan wrote and directed 2 commercial spots for magazine publisher B2B Media and a top-secret project for a client that will hopefully be revealed soon. His script "Delivery" was shot by director Vishal Gurung and showcased at the 2008 Vancouver Asian Film Festival. He is currently working with Vish again on a new short and a feature length film.
